Job Description

At Knights Brown, we are committed to integrating environmental and sustainability benefits into the delivery of our projects. As part of our climate action strategy, Goal 13, we're looking for a confident and capable Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator to help elevate our sustainability efforts.

This is a hands-on role for someone ready to lead, influence, and embed sustainability across our division. You'll join a team already making progress through initiatives like SmartWaste, Thrive, and our anti-idling campaign. We seek someone who can build on this foundation, bring fresh ideas, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of Goal 13 across all projects, developing a structured management plan that becomes standard practice.
  • Engage early in each project to involve teams, identify opportunities, and embed sustainability from the start.
  • Monitor and support project delivery, collecting data, providing feedback, and driving improvements.
  • Support existing initiatives such as SmartWaste, Thrive, anti-idling, and carbon reduction plans, while introducing new ideas to stay ahead.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to track progress and promote accountability.
  • Guide and mentor site teams to enhance sustainability performance and reporting, supporting company-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with site teams and supply chain partners to develop tailored carbon reduction plans and improve environmental outcomes.
  • Assist the Work Winning Team with expert input into tenders and PQQs, including case studies demonstrating sustainability achievements and social value impacts.
  • Partner with the social value team to support divisional reporting and performance tracking.
  • Lead divisional and company-wide climate action groups, contributing ideas and influencing strategy.

About You

We seek someone passionate about sustainability, with the confidence and resilience to implement initiatives in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Ecology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a sustainability or environmental role, preferably within construction.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
