As a key member of our Architecture team, reporting to the Head of IT Strategy & Transformation, you will be responsible for developing and evolving AXA Ireland's Enterprise Architecture Framework, ensuring our technology landscape remains aligned to business priorities, customer needs and future growth ambitions.
You will act as a trusted advisor across the organisation, providing strategic architectural leadership, establishing governance standards, and guiding technology investment decisions. Working closely with business leaders, Solution Architects, programme teams and the wider AXA UK & I and AXA Group architecture communities, you will help shape the future-state architecture of AXA Ireland while supporting large-scale transformation and innovation initiatives.
This is a highly visible role for an experienced Enterprise Architect who is passionate about connecting business strategy with technology execution and creating sustainable, long-term value through architecture excellence.

You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events
What you'll be doing:- Develop, maintain and evolve key components of AXA Ireland's Enterprise Architecture Framework.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for enterprise architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategy.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate business objectives into architecture roadmaps and technology solutions.
- Drive the refresh and continuous improvement of Enterprise Architecture across Business, Information Systems and Technology domains.
- Promote and govern the architecture methods, standards and frameworks used across projects and programmes.
- Support architecture governance and compliance activities, including chairing the AXA Ireland Architecture Review Board and participating in regional governance forums when required.
- Provide architectural leadership and guidance across strategic change programmes and technology transformation initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the wider AXA UK & Ireland Regional and AXA Group Architecture communities, driving collaboration, consistency and best practice sharing.
- Contribute to analysis of emerging technology trends, market developments and current-state architecture challenges to support future strategic planning.
- Influence stakeholders at all levels to ensure technology decisions, consider long-term organisational outcomes and risk management requirements.
- 5+ years' experience in Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, Technology Architecture, or a related senior architecture role.
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
- TOGAF certification (or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification) is essential.
- Professional qualifications relevant to modern enterprise technology environments would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of defining, implementing and governing complex enterprise architectures across diverse technology environments.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture disciplines across Business, Information Systems and Technology Architecture.
- Experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF or equivalent.
- Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to translate business needs into effective technology strategies and architectural solutions.
- Experience working within complex multi-vendor technology environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complexity and make informed strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and challenge stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Must meet internal criteria as set out in Recruitment & Selection Policy available on intranet.
