Cambian Lufton College is a specialist residential education provider for 16-25 year olds with ASD, Learning Difficulties and complex behavioural and emotional needs. The college provides a 2-3 year pathway to prepare our students for adulthood, equipping them with the skills and qualities required to lead a fulfilled, independent and ambitious life.

The Enrichment and Employment co-ordinator is both a student-facing and public-facing role designed to support wider learning outcomes for our residential and day students to plan and develop enrichment opportunities outside of their main program of study, and to support the Head of Department with identifying employment and work experience opportunities to prepare our students for adulthood.

Main Duties

The postholder will work closely with education, clinical and care members of the team of research, develop and produce a comprehensive enrichment and events/activity programme. This will aim to support the students' personal behaviour, development and welfare as well as support the 24-hour curriculum offer to meet student EHCP outcomes and preparing for adulthood.

The Enrichment and Employment Co-ordinator will support the Head of Education to make local links and identify employers to support work placements for students at Lufton College, and co-ordinate and be responsible for ensuring all safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessment processes are completed prior to placements commencing. They will be responsible for supporting the Head of Education and Head of Department to research market place recruitment in home locations of students to support their employability pathways, and seek local work placement options.

  • Capturing the students voice, supporting the education, care and clinical teams to understand the students wishes and aspirations to support the creation of enrichment as well as their experience and outcomes at college.
  • Creating links and relationships within the local community, utilising local businesses and providers to provide support for enrichment.
  • Co-ordinate and plan an enrichment program for the college which is ambitious and person centred.
  • Support the employment hub at the college to research and seek out local work experience and volunteering opportunities.
  • Be responsible for the data collection and planning documents, as well as regular communications to college team members, students and stakeholders, producing reports where required using our MIS systems.

You will promote and support across college student involvement activities, and be required to attend events both college led and community led representing the college within your role.
