Work within the English department supporting pupils with reading, writing, analysis, and exam preparation. You will provide 1:1 and small-group academic support, reinforce lesson content, and build the classroom confidence needed for a future move into teacher training. Secondary teachers work with students aged 11 to 16, or up to 19 in schools with sixth forms.
The CandidateYou are articulate, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly. You want practical secondary school experience, you enjoy helping pupils improve in English, and you see this role as a genuine route into teacher training rather than just a stop gap job.
Requirements- Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children - Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals - A desire to train as a teacher and build a long term career in education.
