Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS status (ECTs/NQTs and experienced practitioners are encouraged to apply).
  • Degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related subject area.

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to process one)

Key Duties

  • Teaching & Learning: Design and execute high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Student Progression: Evaluate student work, mark assignments systematically, and provide feedback to drive academic achievement.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish clear expectations to promote active participation and high standards of behaviour.
  • Exam Readiness: Equip students with core analytical skills and exam techniques for upcoming GCSE assessments.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with secondary English departments to align with school schemes of work and literacy initiatives.
