Job Title: English Lecturer

Location: Redditch and Bromsgrove

Hours: 29.6 hours per week (part time)

Pay: Up to £33,130 per annum - starting salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, engaging teaching and assessment, including planning lessons, monitoring progress, providing regular assessment, and giving timely feedback to support learner achievement.
• Carry out initial, diagnostic and milestone assessments, using results to inform learning plans and support progress.
• Develop and use appropriate teaching resources, lesson plans and schemes of work.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement, and share these with relevant stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to address attendance, behaviour and engagement issues.
• Contribute to curriculum development, meetings and quality assurance activities such as standardisation.
• Support learner progress reporting and engage with parents/carers where required.
• Complete relevant administrative tasks and keep up to date with developments in English and related processes.
• Teach across any of the campuses, including revision and intervention sessions.
• Produce and develop teaching resources to support delivery including schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Keep accurate and timely information about learner attendance, achievement and progress to be shared with the Head of English, CRQ leaders and directors, parents and learners.
• Assist with staff meetings, curriculum improvement and learner progress evenings.
• Take part in verification and standardisation activities where required.
• Keep up to date with developments and qualifications in the areas of English.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Appropriate teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake and gain the Certificate in Education and Training within 2 years of appointment.
• Minimum level 2 qualification in both English and Maths; those without will be expected to obtain them during employment.
• Attainment of safeguarding, equality and diversity, GDPR, cyber security, health and safety and other mandatory training.
• Enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references and qualification validation check.
• Willingness to travel to other campuses or surrounding areas as required.

Salary

The salary range for this post is £26,687 to £30,753 per annum/pro rata for unqualified lecturers and £31,503 to £41,413 per annum/pro rata for qualified lecturers.

Hours of Work: 29.6 hours per week; actual hours of work and desk duty time will be agreed with your manager.

Annual Leave: 37 days plus eight public bank holidays and five concessionary days; pro rata if part time.
