Job Title - Lecturer in English

Salary - £25,494 - £44,526 per annum (depending on qualifications & experience)

Location - East London

Contract Type - Permanent, Full-Time

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in English to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of English programmes, including Functional Skills and GCSE. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about inspiring students and supporting them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across varied programmes.
Create schemes of work and develop resources that support student learning.
Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to aid progression.
Track and report on student attendance, progress, and achievement.
Support learners pastorally, fostering confidence and resilience.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Stay up to date with current teaching practices and subject developments.
Engage in professional development and contribute to continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

A recognised teaching qualification or a relevant Level 3 qualification with willingness to gain a teaching qualification.
Recent experience teaching English or Functional Skills, ideally with 16-18 learners.
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
Excellent communication, organisational, and assessment skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.

Desirable:
Experience teaching GCSE English.
Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
