Engineering Undergraduate Industrial Placement - September 2026

About the Placement

We are inviting undergraduates to apply for a one-year industrial placement starting in September 2026 at our facility in Ulverston, Cumbria.

This opportunity offers hands-on experience within a highly skilled engineering and manufacturing environment, working alongside specialists in design engineering, electronics, and embedded software.

You will contribute to real projects that advance subsea imaging and sensor technology, gaining exposure to:

• SONAR system design, development, and testing
• Embedded software development and hardware integration
• Electronics design and prototyping
• Housing design and proving
• Product verification and validation
• Multidisciplinary collaboration between R&D, production, and test engineering teams

Who We're Looking For

This placement is ideal for undergraduates studying:

• Electronic or Electrical Engineering
• Computer Science / Embedded Systems
• Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering
• Physics
• Mathematics

We're looking for motivated individuals who enjoy problem-solving, have strong analytical and communication skills, and are keen to apply theoretical knowledge to practical engineering challenges.
