Engineering Technician - 2 shifts

Overview

A well-established food manufacturing company based in Naas, Co. Kildare is currently recruiting an Engineering Technician with a strong electrical background to join its on-site Engineering team.

This is a hands-on maintenance role within a fast-paced production environment, working a structured Monday-Friday shift pattern.

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Weekly rotating shifts
  • 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • 2:30pm - 11:00pm
  • 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and repair of plant and equipment
• Reactive and planned maintenance across production and site facilities
• Installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
• PLC fault diagnostics (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Schneider)
• Execution of preventive maintenance programmes
• Support utilities including compressed air and refrigeration systems
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and quality standards
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and oversee contractors
• Provide shift support to production as required

Requirements

• Electrical qualification or time-served Electrician
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics capability
• Mechanical experience an advantage
• Experience with CMMS, motor control systems, pneumatics and temperature control
• PLC experience highly desirable
• Flexible, reliable and able to work on own initiative
