Overview

Engineering Team Leader

Salary: £46,000 - £48,000 + Overtime
Location: Based 10mins drive from Uxbridge
Hours: 37 per week (Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-12:00)
Contract: Permanent

Engineering Team Leader Duties
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of around 20 staff.
  • Driving performance against KPIs, ensuring productivity and compliance with procedures.
  • Overseeing recruitment, induction, appraisals, and training.
  • Managing disciplinaries and absence processes in line with company policy.
  • Implementing continuous improvement activities such as 5S and Lean methodologies.
  • Monitoring workload and wellbeing, ensuring staff are supported to succeed.
  • Promoting Health & Safety standards and conducting risk assessments.
  • Acting as a role model, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
Engineering Team Leader Profile
  • Proven leadership experience - strong people management is essential.
  • Experience in manufacturing with a track record of conducting appraisals, disciplinaries, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Confidence working with data, analysing trends, and interpreting performance reports.
  • Computer skills (SAP or equivalent).
  • Integrity, teamwork, and a drive to improve.

Knowledge of finishing processes such as anodising or rumbling is desirable but not essential - what matters most is your ability to lead people.
