An established independent school is seeking a full-time Interim Teacher of Engineering to join its Design & Technology faculty on a short-term basis until 27 March. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled teacher to work within a well-resourced department that delivers a broad engineering curriculum across multiple key stages.

The Role

You will be teaching Product Design to students aged 9-16 (up to GCSE level), supporting a curriculum that spans both lower and upper school phases. The department offers a dynamic and practical programme including Product Design, Systems & Control, and Electronics, alongside a strong enrichment programme.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the department's co-curricular activities and support students in developing creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

The Ideal Candidate

The role would suit:

• An experienced teacher
• An ECT/NQT
• A candidate transitioning from industry or research

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Strong subject knowledge in Engineering or Product Design
• A genuine passion for teaching and learning
• The ability to inspire and stretch students of all abilities
• Excellent classroom practice (or clear potential)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A collaborative, professional approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare

A DATA Core Health & Safety certification (or willingness to obtain) is desirable.

The Engineering department teaches across a wide age range and offers a broad curriculum including:

• Product Design
• Systems & Control
• Electronics
