POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of New Product Development, Value Engineering and Continuous Improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to required internationally recognised standards. Most projects fall within a product category structure, and involve a high level of cross functional, and international engagement.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of Engineering projects, managing schedules, resources and documentation.
- Influence and work with cross functional teams, across Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Supplier Development and Manufacturing.
- Serve as key point of contact for day-to-day project activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and budgets.
- Prepare and present progress reports, status updates, and performance metrics to Leader and Executive team members.
- Lead meetings, workshops, and reviews to drive alignment and rapid decision-making.
- Support project team members with workload planning, prioritisation and the removal of roadblocks.
- Support organisational strategic plan by contributing to roadmap planning in line with business objectives.
- Responsible for administration of assigned projects, tracking task completion, budget status and resource utilisation.
- Support training initiatives for new team members and share best practices.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Strong organisation and planning skills; able to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead without authority.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical and business drivers.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- High attention to detail combined with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred), or qualified by experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant experience of managing Engineering projects in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering cross-functional engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Experience working in and influencing cross-functional/multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of working within a Waterfall structure, and associated governance.
- Experience of risk identification, management and mitigation.
SKILLS:
- Strong organisational, problem solving and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project and/or SmartSheet.
- Analytical skills to support data-driven decision making.
- Ability to chair project meetings, facilitate group discussions and champion team based working.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
