Company Overview: I am recruiting for a leading service provider company who are looking for an Engineering Manager in their facility on the outskirts of Glasgow to join their dynamic team of engineers.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of manufacturing processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a split between managing the 8 engineers on a shift pattern and not being afraid to assist the engineers when a breakdown/issue arises, so existing engineers can be upskilled.
Therefore, an individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical machinery and engineering principles is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Utilise lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.

Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team. 50% management, 50% hands-on training
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
- From a Mechanical or Electrical background in manufacturing, service provider or industrial industries.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
