Engineering Manager

We're hiring an Engineering Manager at Underwrite Me to lead two Product teams ( 6 engineers in each team) to deliver new features and own their software in production. You'll manage both people and delivery, driving customer outcomes and business value. Your teams work with technologies like Spring, Java, React, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm and AWS. Reporting into the Director of Engineering you'll be part of their technical leadership team. As Engineering Manager you'll shape the future of the platform as we evolve into a modern enterprise SaaS. You'll lead software delivery, grow people and help build scalable, maintainable systems that deliver real user value. Your work spans the full SDLC, and you'll be empowered to take ownership of complex engineering challenges. What you will be Doing Provide technical leadership by guiding the team to design systems that meet Product and operational requirements What type of person fits the role You put the customer at the centre of every decision. You're comfortable making trade-offs to meet delivery goals without compromising core quality standards and always have a plan to pay back technical debt. You're curious, proactive and always looking for ways to grow, whether that's your own skills, your team's effectiveness or the systems your team build. Technical Requirements Prior experience as a Senior Software Engineer working on distributed systems in a Backend or Full-Stack context.
