Engineering Manager

Our client is a SaaS company specializing in the insurance industry with an automated application process tool. They are in a growth phase, aiming to scale from 60 full-time employees to doubling this number within the next two years, while expanding their market share throughout Europe. The company benefits from a strong management team led by an experienced founder who previously established a noteworthy Dutch startup in the past decade. They seek engineering managers with significant experience in leading and developing teams and embedding values within the organization, as well as experience scaling from 50 - 200, no rookies for this position.

The technology stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS, and GitHub Actions. This role combines leadership with product and technical innovation, involving 30% focus on the roadmap, team integration, product architecture, and technical support. The remaining responsibilities center on fostering team cohesion, embedding organizational values, and improving productivity and efficiency (in and inter teams).

We are looking for:

• 10+ years of technical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in leadership positions, preferably working with more product teams and teams of 6-8 scaling upwards.
• Strong experience with the technology stack.
• Experience in SaaS, preferably in (hyper) growth phase.
• Affinity with high performance culture.

The salary for this position can reach up to €130,000 base, and while it is a hybrid role, the company has an office-dominant culture with most teams working in Amsterdam three to four days per week.
