You willspearhead the strategic direction for MCO's global engineering teams, with afocus on integrating AI/ML capabilities and modern software practices. You willestablish and monitor KPIs, champion agile and MLOps methodologies, and ensurecontinuous improvement. You will serve as a key decision-maker in technicalarchitecture, particularly in AI-driven solutions, and act as a trusted advisorto senior leadership on technology strategy and risk management.
As Directorof Engineering, you will provide strategic direction and technical oversightfor global delivery teams, with a strong emphasis on AI and advancedengineering practices. You will lead and mentor senior managers and technicalleaders, drive innovation in AI/ML, and ensure alignment with MCO's objectives.You will champion responsible, ethical AI practices, foster a culture oftechnical excellence, and collaborate across departments to deliver impactfulsolutions.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction andoversight for multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with MCO'sobjectives and long-term vision, with a focus on AI/ML innovation.
- Lead and mentor engineeringmanagers and principal engineers, empowering them to drive results andfoster a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Define and implement agile andMLOps-led processes to scale engineering operations, improve efficiency,and support AI/ML workflows.
- Drive innovation in AI andmachine learning, ensuring solutions are ethical, explainable, andcompliant with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with productmanagement, compliance, customer success, and technology teams to deliverimpactful, AI-enabled solutions aligned with business goals.
- Establish and maintain KPIs forengineering and AI/ML performance, regularly assessing and reportingprogress.
- Serve as a key decision-makerin technical architecture and design, especially for scalable, robust, andAI-driven solutions.
- Champion diversity, equity, andinclusion, and promote a culture of belonging and respect.
- Drive recruitment and talentacquisition for both engineering and AI/ML roles, partnering with HR toattract top talent.
- Represent engineering incross-functional meetings and strategic planning, advocating for the needsand priorities of both engineering and AI teams.
- Stay abreast of industry andAI/ML trends, evaluating their impact and recommending adoption wherevaluable.
- Act as a trusted advisor tosenior leadership on technology, AI strategy, resource allocation, andrisk management.
- Foster collaboration andcross-team communication, breaking down silos and encouraging knowledgesharing, especially in AI/ML domains.
- Lead by example in promotingtransparency, accountability, and continuous improvement acrossengineering and AI/ML operations.
- 15+ years of experience(including up to 7 years in management) in product development, withsignificant exposure to AI/ML and cloud-based engineering.
- 3+ years of second or thirdline management experience.
- Strong Java full stack andPython engineering experience in a product development environment, withhands-on expertise in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch,Scikit-learn).
- Decisive contributions intechnical architecture, especially for AI/ML and data-driven solutions.
- Expertise in reviewingarchitecture & design, modularisation, microservice architectures, andscalable AI/ML systems.
- Strong problem-solving andanalytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues in bothengineering and AI/ML contexts.
- Adaptability, prioritisation,and a growth mindset.
- Excellent communication andservant leadership skills.
- Deep knowledge of agile, scrum,and MLOps methodologies.
- Experience in a product-drivenSaaS or financial services company.
- Demonstrated leadership inAI/ML innovation, responsible AI, and technical excellence at scale.
