We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities & Engineering Manager to join our team.
This position is responsible for providing a well-established support function that oversees all business-critical services to ensure both customer experience is market leading and compliance standards are adhered to. They will be accountable for capital expenditure to maintain, operate and improve all Distribution Centre (DC) utilities & facilities as well as P&L responsibility on operating expenses.
Ownership of all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and the majority of key DC related assets means that reporting and communication to all stakeholders is paramount.
Thorough maintenance is essential for the safeguarding of all Cromwell employees, protection & upkeep of all business assets (buildings included), upholding of compliance standards in-line with insurance requirements and adhering to all UK laws and legislations.
This position is an on-site role based in Leicester. Interviews will be conducted face-to-face and will also include a written and a practical test.
- Promote a safe working environment to safeguard all Cromwell employees by implementing the relevant precautions and procedures adhering to all UK laws.
- Identify all requirements needed to build a team with the relevant skillsets to adequately support the business.
- Have the ability to work cross-functionally between departments to build relationships, offer technical support and deliver cost effective solutions for in-house projects.
- Lead the team by example establishing a professionalism which delivers on performance and drives good behaviours that reflect strongly across the business.
- Drive personal development throughout the team in all areas looking for alternative methods of training to maintain sustainability.
- Manage and forecast engineering & facilities spend/budget for all sites.
- To uphold today's exceptional asset availability through continued planned preventative maintenance activities and continuous improvement (CI) projects.
- Identify and own capital expenditure projects to maintain company assets to the highest standards.
- Where in-house resource cannot be utilised, enter into negotiations with 3 rd party suppliers to best serve the business.
- From a legal stance, compliance standards must always be achieved and insurance requirements met without failure.
- Certify that all fire protection systems are tested in accordance with insurance provider's recommendations, maintained and reported against.
- All site drawings, schematics and documentation to be regularly reviewed and updated when applicable.
- Ensure the company standards for delivering a distinctive customer experience are at the forefront of all business interactions.
- Ensure the company HR policy and conditions of employment detailed in the employment guide are applied in all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure all requirements of the company security and anti-bribery & corruption policies are observed and adhered to.
- Promote a professional image of the Cromwell group and comply with the equal opportunities and business conduct policies including work related events which take place outside normal working hours.
- Maintain and comply with Cromwell group corporate social responsibility, Health and Safety and environmental standards.
- Read and comply with all other Cromwell group standards, policies, procedures and agreements.
- HND/Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (preferred)
- GCSE/O level qualifications in English, Maths & ICT
- A recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
- Prince 2 or Project Experience (Desirable)
- Electrical qualification or background (required)
- PLC experience/qualification (Fault finding only)
