As an Energy Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the client contract by delivering best-in-class energy management services. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining energy management systems, ensuring compliance with legislation, driving efficiency improvements, and leading strategic initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation committed to compliance, continual improvement and delivering positive environmental and sustainability outcomes.

In your new role:

  • Deliver and maintain a robust ISO 50001 Energy Management System across the contract
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and European energy legislation
  • Prepare and deliver regular energy and water performance reports, including monthly governance updates, fortnightly risk projections, and consumption vs. budget analysis
  • Lead monthly strategic energy management meetings, providing supporting materials and recommendations
  • Deliver energy awareness workshops across departments to improve engagement and performance
  • Operate, maintain, and develop Monitoring & Targeting (M&T) and BMS systems (eSight / MRI Energy and Trend IQVision)
  • Manage data integrity to meet all corporate and legal reporting requirements
  • Maintain and develop a Register of Opportunities to track and deliver energy efficiency projects
  • Support compliance requirements by managing permit variations and liaising with local regulatory bodies (NIEA, Utility Regulator)
  • Assist with energy procurement and supplier management, attending quarterly reviews where required
  • Represent the client at industry seminars and workshops, keeping abreast of emerging energy trends and legislation
  • Oversee energy and water budget management, including invoice validation, accruals, and purchase order processes
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all energy-related activities

What you will need to succeed:

  • A primary degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience within a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of energy management systems and compliance reporting
  • Track record of delivering measurable energy reduction projects
  • Ability to manage complex data, budgets, and performance metrics
  • IT proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • ISO 50001 Auditor certification
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent health & safety certification
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels
