End User Support Engineer

Do you hold a full UK driver's licence? This is essential to this role.

The Desktop team provides a responsive service undertaking day to day support of desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals. You will be responsible for the setup and installation of new hardware/software as well as troubleshooting and investigating a variety of desktop related incidents and service requests.

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton consists of five busy hospitals providing a wide range of acute and emergency health services. Our care is paramount and it is essential that, when needed, our doctors and nurses can rely on IT systems to support patient treatment.

You will be confident in your IT skills and able to demonstrate experience in an IT support services environment. Knowledge of clinical IT systems, particularly Meditech and Lorenzo, is desirable, and you should have a good understanding of national information security requirements.

Please be aware that there is no guarantee that you will be released from your substantive post. Seek approval before applying for a secondment.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide 2nd line support for Trust IT systems, desktop devices and peripherals within hospitals and off site locations.
  • Support the delivery of IT systems and services in hospitals and community, assisting with customer support, system training and technical queries.
  • Liaise with internal and external agencies for installation, configuration and maintenance of new and current systems.
