End User Computing Workplace Architect - 9 - Month Contract - Fully Remote
The End User Computing (EUC) Workplace Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the digital workplace environment to deliver secure, efficient, and high-quality end-user experiences. This role works closely with IT, security, and business stakeholders to develop workplace solutions that support productivity, mobility, and collaboration across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Architecture & Design
- Design, develop, and maintain end user computing solutions, including desktop, laptop, mobile, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
- Lead the architecture and deployment of modern workplace platforms, including Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Endpoint Manager (Intune), and collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
- Assess existing workplace environments and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and standardization.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to ensure workplace solutions comply with security, regulatory, and data protection requirements.
- Implement security controls aligned with industry frameworks and organizational policies.
- Support identity, access management, and information protection initiatives.
Standards, Documentation & Governance
- Develop and maintain technical standards, architecture frameworks, operational documentation, and solution blueprints.
- Produce and update technical diagrams and reference architectures.
Productivity & User Experience
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enhance end-user productivity and digital experience.
- Continuously improve device performance, reliability, and usability.
Technical Leadership & Operations
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to EUC and support teams.
- Promote best practices throughout the solution life cycle, from design through decommissioning.
- Support complex incidents, escalations, and platform improvements.
Automation & Optimization
- Lead automation initiatives for device provisioning, application deployment, patch management, and configuration governance.
- Implement Scripting and workflow automation to improve operational efficiency.
Innovation & Continuous Learning
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor roadmaps.
- Evaluate new solutions for potential adoption within the digital workplace ecosystem.
What You Will Ideally Bring
- Proficiency in Scripting and automation tools (eg, PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with cloud-based desktop platforms such as Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Understanding of IT service management frameworks (eg, ITIL).
- Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms and workflow automation tools.
Work Environment
- Occasional travel and participation in after-hours support activities may be required.
- The role operates in a dynamic, evolving technology environment and requires adaptability and continuous learning.
- Typically reports to the Digital Workplace or End User Services leadership function.
Relevant Certifications (Preferred)
- MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator (Tenant, Security, Identity)
- SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator (Conditional Access, RBAC)
- SC-400 Information Protection Administrator (Purview, DLP, Records Management)
- MS-700 Teams Administrator
- MS-720 (or successor) Teams Voice
- Session Border Controller (SBC) and SIP Fundamentals
- AI-102/AI-900 AI Solutions and Foundations
- PL-400/PL-700 Power Platform and Copilot Studio Development
Contract Details
- Duration: 9 months (with potential extension)
- Day Rate: ~ 40 per hour
- Location: Remote
