Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated full-time Band 4 Employment, Training and Education (ETE) Advisor to join our Occupational and Vocational Team at the North London Forensic Service (NLFS). The service manages and facilitates the transition of high-risk service users with severe and enduring mental illness through secure inpatient services into the community, working across the boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey.

The post involves working across male and female low and medium secure inpatient wards, as well as within the community with service users under outreach teams.

NLFT encourages people who have experienced mental health problems to apply for any post within the Trust for which they meet the person specification. The Trust is committed to flexible working and will endeavour to accommodate requests for specific working patterns, considering service needs.

Main duties of the job

The ETE Advisor will provide information, advice, and guidance to support clients in accessing and securing education, training, and employment opportunities within the community. The ETE Programme adopts a recovery-oriented approach, delivering personalized support tailored to individual needs and aspirations. The service emphasizes co-production, social inclusion, self-esteem, confidence, and hope for the future, fostering personal identity and developing meaningful community engagement.
