About the RoleThis role supports people who face barriers to employment to find and keep work. You will work face-to-face in the community, building trust, confidence and practical routes into jobs.
You will be part of the Connect to Work programme across East Hertfordshire and Welwyn. The work is purposeful, structured and impact-driven.

This is a field-based, mobile role. You will travel daily across Hertfordshire to meet participants, employers and partners. Meetings take place in community venues, health settings and workplaces. This is not a home-based or office-based role.
You must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. You will be required to cover business mileage. Mileage is expensed at HMRC rates.
What You Will Do- Manage a caseload of participants seeking employment.
- Meet people regularly to understand skills, strengths and goals.
- Develop vocational profiles and clear action plans.
- Support job search, CVs and interview preparation.
- Provide in-worksupport to sustain employment.
- Record progress, outcomes and evidence accurately.
- Work to clear performance expectations focused on job outcomes.
- Build relationships with local employers.
- Identify suitable job opportunities.
- Promote inclusive recruitment and reasonable adjustments.
- Maintain contact once employment starts.
- Consistent, organised and people-focused.
- Can work independently while staying accountable to targets.
- Able to handle fast-paced days where progress is not always immediate.
- Experience supporting people, customers or clients in a caseload or target-driven environment.
- Confidence working face-to-face in the community.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for daily business use.
- Willingness to travel across Hertfordshire daily.
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Employer engagement skills.
- Knowledge of disability and health-related employment barriers.
- IPS (Individual Placement and Support) methodology.
You might start with a community meeting, travel to support a participant at an interview, then meet an employer to discuss vacancies. You will plan your own diary and manage travel time. Structure matters.
