Location: Montague House, Montague Place, Brighton, BN2 1JS. Basis: Flexi Hours (37 hours per week). Salary: £34,434 - £39,152 (contractual). Fixed term: Until March 2029. Date posted: 17 March 2026. Job reference: REQ.

About the role

Seeking a motivated Employer Engagement Officer to lead employer and stakeholder relationships for the Connect to Work programme. The role focuses on creating inclusive work opportunities through collaboration with local businesses, employment advisers, and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with employers across all sectors to understand the benefits of supported employment and inclusive recruitment, and to create opportunities for participants.
  • Working with employment advisers to match participants' aspirations with job opportunities identified through employer engagement.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the local labour market to inform service delivery and support strategic planning.
  • Leading the programme's engagement and publicity strategy, including creating promotional materials and representing the service at forums and events to support participant recruitment and employer engagement.
  • Supporting reporting, audits, assessments, and outcome evidence to demonstrate compliance with the Individual Placement Support and Supported Employment Quality Framework models.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience in recruitment, business development, or employer engagement.
  • Strong understanding of the barriers people face in accessing and retaining work, and the challenges employers experience in recruitment.
  • Experience creating new opportunities such as apprenticeships, jobs, or work placements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
  • Confidence presenting to networks and representing the programme externally.
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to meet targets and manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and collaborative work.
