Embedded Software Engineer (Ada) - Contract - Bedfordshire - £competitive

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an Embedded Software Engineer to work at a leading defence client on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will support a number of high-profile development programmes and will work in a multi-faceted role that includes the design, development, test and support of current and future workstreams.

Responsibilities include:

- Support the specification, design, coding and testing of complex Real Time Embedded software in Ada, producing quality software, to high integrity levels, company standards and customer requirements.

- Take ownership of complex tasks across the full software life cycle from requirements to integration, testing and delivery.

- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams, working closely across disciplines to develop robust solutions whilst maintaining working independence.

Experience required:

- Strong software engineering background, which includes significant work with the Ada programming language and OO design principles.

- Expert skills in debugging within Embedded Real Time environments.

- Strong working knowledge of UML

- Experience of requirements engineering, hands-on integration and target testing.

- Excellent working knowledge of developing software within a mature development process framework.

- Previous experience within the defence sector would be desirable but not essential

- Usage of tools such as Dimensions, DOORS, Rhapsody would be beneficial to the role

- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical teams.

- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
