Embedded Engineer - Contract (Outside IR35)

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Embedded Engineer to design and optimize scalable solutions for next-gen devices. You'll work independently on platforms like ESP32 and i.MX8/9, contributing to firmware, driver integration, and system debugging.

Skills & Qualifications:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Embedded C++ development
- Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, SoCs
- Experience with FreeRTOS or similar RTOS environments
- Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools (GitHub, JIRA, Confluence)

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain Embedded firmware using C++ on RTOS platforms (eg, FreeRTOS)
- Interface with hardware using protocols like SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and integration strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and documentation
- Work independently with minimal supervision, while aligning with broader product goals
