About the Role

Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd is part of the Water and Industry Business Unit. The role focuses on designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems that support water recycling in a sustainable, energy efficient way.

Responsibilities

• Technical responsibility for the design of embedded software (firmware) for control, monitoring and connectivity solutions.
• Specify, design and document technical requirements and define appropriate test plans.
• Analyse and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of designs.
• Work closely with internal and external resources to ensure work is completed to specification.
• Evaluate and select software components for larger solutions.
• Manage technical updates to the existing product portfolio.
• Advise on opportunities to streamline control, monitoring and connected solutions.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of experience in best practice software development, delivery and deployment.
• In depth knowledge of C programming language.
• Experience developing firmware for embedded applications.
• Knowledge of software architecture for connected industrial applications and solutions.
• Knowledge of embedded systems with IoT or M2M capability.
• Knowledge of industrial communications protocols (Modbus, CAN, OPC, DNP3).
• Knowledge of telecom/network communications protocols (TCP/IP, GPRS/3G/4G, wireless, low energy protocols).
• Experience with version control software.
• Analytical skills for root cause determination.
• Experience working in a multi disciplinary and multinational team environment.
