Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Supervisor to oversee the delivery of electrical systems on a major data centre construction project. You will play a key role in managing onsite electrical works, ensuring technical compliance, safety standards, and timely delivery of all project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the installation of electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, busbars, cabling, containment, and lighting.
  • Oversee subcontractors and coordinate site activity in line with construction programmes and design specifications.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies on site.
  • Monitor daily site progress and report to the project management team.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to electrical installation, commissioning, or design changes.
  • Liaise with engineers, QA/QC teams, and commissioning personnel to support seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including test sheets, red-line drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience supervising electrical installations on large-scale construction projects; data centre or mission-critical facility experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV systems, generator backup systems, UPS, and power distribution.
  • Proven ability to manage electrical subcontractors and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Solid understanding of commissioning processes and quality assurance in electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications confidently.
  • Relevant electrical trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Optional: ECS/CSCS Card, Safe Pass, SSSTS/SMSTS, or other relevant safety certifications.
