Role: Electrical Estimator (Fire & Security Systems)

Location: Dublin 14

Job Type: Permanent - Full time

Salary: Excellent Salary + package

Our Client is excited to welcome a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to their growing team in the electrical Fire and Security industry. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in helping us bid on and secure new projects by accurately assessing project costs and resources. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analyzing technical data, collaborating with engineers and project managers, and contributing to the success of innovative manufacturing projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, ensuring bids are competitive yet profitable, and supporting the overall financial health of our projects.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and pricing for bids and proposals.
  • Review historical data and industry standards to generate accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend cost saving measures during the estimation process.
  • Maintain and update databases of prices and vendor information.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of estimation processes and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with procurement team to ensure availability and pricing of materials.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in electrical industry.
  • Experience in the Fire and Electronic Security Industry would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Familiarity with estimation software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel and specialized costing software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred.
