Team Overview: The Design department is responsible for developing innovative, practical, and fully coordinated mechanical and electrical building services solutions tailored to each project. Working closely with clients, project teams, and the BIM department, the design team transforms concepts into detailed, build-ready technical designs that meet regulatory standards, client specifications, and sustainability goals. Their work underpins the technical accuracy and efficiency of our installations, ensuring seamless integration from planning through to construction.

Role Overview: We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer Placement Student to provide practical, real-world electrical engineering experience within a rapidly growing sector. You will be supported by an established electrical and mechanical design team and will gain exposure to electrical design, coordination, site activity and commissioning, helping you understand how projects move from concept through to operation.

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (1 Year)

Location: Head Office, Banbridge

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm

Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience

Responsible to: Building Services Manager

Key Responsibilities

With guidance from senior engineers, the role supports the delivery of electrical design packages for commercial heating and energy projects. This includes producing electrical installation drawings, plant schedules, and technical documentation; assisting with load calculations, BMS control design, and site surveys; and contributing to design coordination, commissioning, and handover activities. The role involves collaboration with project managers, commissioning teams, and the wider design team, using AutoCAD and MEP 3D tools across a range of technologies such as energy centres, heat pumps, CHP, biomass, gas boilers, and commercial PV systems.
