Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer Location: King's Lynn, United Kingdom Are you a skilled Electrical Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to join a well established international manufacturing business? Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying specialist equipment to UK and global markets, is seeking an experienced engineer to join their team in King's Lynn. Responsibilities:
  • Designing and developing electrical systems and controls for new and existing products.
  • Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Working closely with refrigeration, production, manufacturing, and technical teams to support product development projects.
  • Programming and developing electrical and electronic control systems in collaboration with specialist partners.
  • Carrying out electrical load calculations, component specification, and system design activities.
  • Supporting the development of industrial networking systems and IoT connectivity solutions.
  • Conducting product testing, commissioning, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK, EU, and international electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintaining technical files and supporting certification requirements including CE, UKCA, and other relevant approvals.
  • Providing electrical engineering support, audits, inspections, fault finding, and training across manufacturing and technical departments.
Requirements:
  • HNC, HND, or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent electrical engineering qualifications.
  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Installation and knowledge of BS th Edition standards.
  • Proven experience in electrical system design, development, and technical problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience producing electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical design software would be advantageous.
  • Experience with product testing, commissioning, and electrical compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • A practical, hands on approach with strong attention to detail.
