Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: UK-based with occasional travel
Employment Type: Full-time

Are you an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer looking for a hands on role in a dynamic engineering environment? We're seeking a skilled professional to join our Fareham based client, where you will be responsible for electrical assembly, installation, testing, and fault finding across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities - Electrical Controls Engineer
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
  • Manage PAT Testing system and maintain accurate logs.
  • Assist in designing control circuits, wiring to PLCs, and creating panel layouts.
  • Support project documentation and bills of materials.
  • Prepare and interpret engineering drawings to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Liaise with procurement for supplies and provide cost estimates.
  • Occasional overtime and travel within the UK and overseas to meet project deadlines.
What We're Looking For
  • 18th Edition BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Minimum 3-year apprenticeship in electrical/control engineering.
  • Experience in civil, marine, or aerospace engineering environments.
  • Strong skills in assembly, testing, and fault finding of electromechanical systems.
  • Good communication, organisational skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Intermediate ICT skills (MS Office, email).
Additional Requirements
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain ACRO clearance.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety, COSHH, and willingness to undertake relevant training.
