Job Description
Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer - Grange Castle, Dublin €65,000 - €75,000 + Package We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of a large-scale facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, BOP and BMS systems, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation. The successful candidate will carry out troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, calibration, documentation and maintenance activities in line with O&M manuals, SOPs, Permit to Work and LOTO procedures. The role will involve working closely with engineering teams and supporting LV and HV switching operations up to 110kV. Key Responsibilities • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems. • Carry out inspections, fault finding and diagnostics on MV/HV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VSDs and motors. • Support LV/HV switching operations in line with approved procedures and safety requirements. • Install, calibrate and maintain field instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, analysers and control valves. • Complete loop checks, testing, calibration and maintain accurate records. • Interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, schematics and equipment layouts. • Troubleshoot control systems, PLCs, SCADA and HMI-related issues. • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems. • Prepare and review RAMS, ensuring compliance with safety procedures. • Identify opportunities for reliability and process improvements. Requirements • Engineering qualification (Diploma or equivalent) or qualified to National Craft Standard. • 3 5 years experience in a similar electrical/instrumentation maintenance role. • Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMI and control philosophies. • Experience with MCCs, VSDs and industrial instrumentation equipment. • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams and electrical drawings. • Experience with testing equipment including multimeters, insulation testers, loop testers and thermal imaging cameras. • Knowledge of Permit to Work, LOTO procedures and safe isolation practices. • Comfortable using IT systems and CMMS software. • Fluent English required; Portuguese language skills advantageous. • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours work and international travel where required. • HV Authorised Person (AP) training desirable but not essential
