Role Profile

CREGG seeks an Health and Safety Specialist to join Galway's leading medical device manufacturing company. Graduates with 1 year experience in health and safety with exposure to machinery and manufacturing are encouraged to apply. Call Rachel on or email to discuss.

Experience Required

• Assists Engineer with safety programs to include emergency response, risk assessment and chemical compliance
• Maintain plant statistics, performance to goals and other records necessary to document and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Represent our client to outside parties, such as regulatory agencies.
• Works with H&S Manager to identify and control significant health and safety impacts of operations.
• Takes a central role in working with internal committees and training efforts.
• Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.
• Participates in and prepares for EHS inspections by external agencies, and all system audits.
• Investigates, prepares, communicates and manages reports on incidents, injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions as required.
• Level 7 or 8 Bachelors Degree (240 credits) in Occupational, Health and Safety Degree or other relevant 3rd level qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience ideally in construction or manufacturing industry.
• Detailed knowledge of legislation and ability to interpret and translate such information into business policy and procedures.
• A persuasive influencer and negotiator.
• Proven ability to act as an advocate for the development and implementation of change.
