EHS Advisor

The Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's health, safety, and environmental management systems. The role involves providing practical health and safety guidance across engineering, installation, and project sites, including regular travel to project locations throughout Europe to ensure compliance with company standards and relevant legislation.

The successful candidate will promote a positive safety culture, assist in managing risk, and ensure that all employees, contractors, and visitors work in a safe and compliant manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure EHS management systems for the project are implemented and maintained.
• Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
• Adherence to ASEE & PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
• Coordination in the development of task specific method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action and permit to work.
• Coordination of project safety indicators.
• Good Safety Practices are managed & maintained.
• Ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments, control of hazardous substances.
• Carry out regular inspections, document reports and establish corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence and continuous improvements.
• Attend and provide input at site meetings, report on EHS risks, trends and recommend constructive actions towards continuous improvements.
• Good safety practices are managed & maintained.
• Provide advice and guidance in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and employees.
• Adopt a Proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
• Provide Safety input to site management & at site EHS forums.
• Ensure project sub-contractor adhere to project EHS policies & procedures.
• Compile & carry out Toolbox talks, as necessary.
• Liaison with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues.

Qualifications/Experience:

• 2+ years proven experience in a similar role ideally within engineering or construction setting.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations.
• Must already have unrestricted legal authorisation to work in the relevant EU project country. The role cannot be offered where a visa, work permit or employer sponsorship is required, either now or in the future. Valid evidence of right to work will be required.
• Valid driving licence.
