eDV Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst | eDV Cleared Essential | Hybrid (Cheltenham or Milton Keynes) | £70,000 - £95,000

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong Central Government or Defence project experience to support high-impact digital transformation programmes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to understand complex problems, shape solutions, and ensure services meet user and organisational needs.

This role requires a proactive communicator with excellent analytical skills, confidence engaging senior stakeholders, and a deep understanding of Agile delivery within secure government environments.

eDV clearance is essential
Applicants without active eDV cannot be considered.
Hybrid: Cheltenham or Milton Keynes (2-3 days on site per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and define business problems, user needs, and service requirements.
• Translate insights into user stories, acceptance criteria, and clear functional/non-functional specifications.
• Support Product Owners with backlog creation, prioritisation, and refinement.
• Work with delivery teams to shape solutions, define MVPs, and plan releases.
• Model business processes
• Support testing to ensure functionality meets user and business outcomes.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

Required Experience

• Extensive Business Analyst experience within UK Central Government or Defence.
• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical groups.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
• Skilled in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements.
• Knowledge of government transformation strategies and service standards.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary digital delivery teams.
• Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience with data mapping and API-driven services.

Clearance Requirements

• Active eDV clearance is mandatory.
• Candidates without eDV cannot be progressed for this role.
