EIS Versilia is seeking an Educational Gardening Instructor

Program: Afterschool Activities Starting: September 2025


Location: Versilia, Tuscany Part-time position

EIS Versilia is looking for a passionate and hands-on Gardening Instructor to lead after school activities focused on nature-based learning, sustainability, and environmental awareness. The program will be open to students aged 6 to 14and will take place in our outdoor spaces and garden areas.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver weekly afterschool gardening workshops adapted to age and seasonal cycles;

- Teach students how to plant, grow, and care for flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables;

- Introduce simple, engaging concepts related to biodiversity, composting, pollinators, and ecosystems;

- Foster respect for nature, teamwork, and patience through practical, outdoor learning experiences;

- Ensure the safe use of gardening tools and promote eco-friendly, sustainable practices;

- Support occasional school-wide events or exhibitions of student work in the garden.

Requirements:

- Experience in gardening, permaculture, environmental education, or nature-based learning;

- Enjoy working with children and adolescents in an educational setting;

- Ability to manage small groups in outdoor spaces with care and enthusiasm;

- Spoken English or Italian (English B2 minimum, C1 preferred);

- Availability one or more afternoons per week from September 2025.
