Become a specialist in military education and training, developing Soldiers and Officers of all ranks. ETS officers deliver education, design training and provide cultural skills.
- £34,676 - the minimum amount you'll earn during training
- £41,456 - your pay after completing basic trade training
- Age from 21 years & 0 months to 28 years & 11 months
You have the opportunity to work with all parts of the Army in countries and continents around the world, from developing Soldiers in the classroom to providing cultural and linguistic support to front line soldiers on operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering military education and training to Soldiers and officers across all ranks.
- Developing the cultural and linguistic requirements of the Army.
- Supporting future commanders and unlocking their leadership potential.
- Ensuring the Army's training remains world leading and ready for future challenges.
Qualifications:
- 72 UCAS points from at least two A level or Scottish Higher passes.
- 35 ALIS points at GCSE (34 for SCEs) from seven GCSE/SCE subjects, including a Grade C/4 in English, Maths and a science or foreign language.
- A Bachelor's Degree with Honours in any subject.
Begin with Officer training by enrolling on the Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which lasts 44 weeks. You learn the expectations of a British Army Officer and how to lead Soldiers on and off the battlefield.
Step 2After completing the Commissioning Course you attend the ETS Branch Training course at Worthy Down near Winchester. This course starts the PGCE programme, the first step toward an MSc. You develop the skills required to deliver education and training to Soldiers, both at home and deployed, and continue to develop leadership skills and fitness.
Qualifications you could get after training- MSc in Education (Practice and Innovation)
- Certificate in English Language Teaching of Adults (CELTA)
- Defence qualifications in culture, language and media
