Job Description

Education Welfare Officers work in partnership with schools, the Local Authority and other agencies to provide an effective and quality service to young people and their families. This includes the identification and assessment of their needs when there is concern about material or social deprivation, school attendance, underachievement and behaviour.

What you will do:
  • Ensure an enthusiastic approach to supporting learners and their families
  • Respond effectively to changing needs
  • Understand and support every child's entitlement to education
  • Use effective communication skills to build relationships with families and schools
  • Liaise with a wide range of partners and outside agencies
