Job Description

As our EDI Adviser, each day will be different from the last. You ll work closely with all members of the People & Culture team (22 people), the Head of Learning & Inclusion, and key internal stakeholders.

You ll be responsible for driving positive change by supporting our movement and being inclusive in everything we do. You ll advise and ensure all policies and services areas are equitable and compliant.

What you ll do:

  • Support the design and delivery of innovative, future-focused solutions to build a supportive, inclusive colleague and volunteer community.

  • Provide proactive advice, guidance and support on routine equity, diversity and inclusion issues to colleagues and managers across the charity

  • Capture and record all EDI initiatives from across the charity and community, local groups and then manage and ensure that we are not duplication efforts and sharing best practice and successes

  • Work closely with the affinity and EDI forum and act on feedback to strengthen colleague engagement

  • Deliver against the EDI Strategy s actions, owning the specific activities and coordinating and connecting with colleagues to ensure deadlines are met

What you ll bring

  • Proven experience working in an inclusion role in a business setting or of delivering inclusion responsibilities as part of a wider professional remit

  • Good knowledge of specific UK & NI legislative requirements in relation to equity and diversity, including the framework of the Equality Act 2010

  • Experience in policy work, specifically in the consultation, research or development of policies and internal documents, with the proven ability to work collaboratively and establish rapport and working relationships with colleagues at all levels

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence required for providing challenge and advice on sensitive matters related to inclusion, aiming to improve knowledge

  • Highly organised with excellent long-term and short-term planning capabilities required to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines effectively
