About the Role

A warm and nurturing primary school in Sefton is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS team on a long-term, full-time basis, starting after the Easter break. This role is ideal for someone with experience in Early Years who is passionate about supporting young children during the most crucial stage of their development.

You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS staff to support children's learning, language development, social skills, and early independence, ensuring each child feels safe, engaged, and excited to learn.Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting children across all areas of the EYFS framework
  • Assisting with child-led and adult-led activities to promote early literacy, numeracy, and communication
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support when needed
  • Helping to maintain a stimulating, safe, and well-organised classroom environment
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, curiosity, and active learning
  • Assisting with observations and contributing to children's developmental records
  • Working collaboratively with the Early Years team and wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working in Early Years or a nursery/reception setting is essential.
  • Relevant Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualifications are highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development milestones
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and able to engage young learners effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
