Early Years Teacher

Position: EYFS Teacher (Full-time, Maternity Cover)

Location: Bootle, Sefton

Start Date: 1st June 2026 - February 2027

Salary: £145 - £190 per day (MPS1 - MPS6) - Pay to scale after 12 weeks (dependent on experience)

Aspire People are working with a warm and welcoming primary school in Bootle, Sefton, who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic EYFS Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis from 1st June 2026 until February 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and inclusive school community that prides itself on delivering high quality early education. The school is looking for a confident and experienced EYFS practitioner who can seamlessly step into the role and make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities

• Teach within a Reception or Nursery class, creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan and deliver play based, child centred lessons in line with the Early Years Framework.
• Support the individual needs of all pupils to ensure progress and inclusion.
• Work collaboratively with support staff and the SENDCo to provide tailored support.
• Promote children's social, emotional and language development through creative learning opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support each child's development.
• Assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records in line with EYFS expectations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• At least one year of recent EYFS teaching experience (essential).
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
• A nurturing, proactive and adaptable teaching style.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the ability to obtain one quickly to meet the 1st June start date).
• Ability to provide two professional references.
