Early Years Practitioner

Currie Primary Nursery is located in the South West of Edinburgh in Currie, part of Currie Primary School and has a designated site within the main school grounds. It can accommodate 64 children.

Salary: £30,188 - £34,452. Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks.

Currie Primary Nursery has two large open plan rooms and a large outdoor space which children use daily. We use a Play Based Learning approach and respond to pupil voice through responsive planning to enhance learning and teaching through the Curriculum for Excellence. We promote and provide high quality and engaging learning experiences for all children, whilst encouraging a love of learning.

We encourage children to be aware of themselves and others while developing themselves as global citizens. We encourage curiosity and teach skills to adapt to an ever changing world. We have strong partnerships with parents/carers, partner services and agencies and the wider community, and our ethos is linked to our school Mission, Vision and Values.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You must provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
