Early Years Nursery Practitioner

Salary: minimum wage until satisfactory 3 month probationary period has been worked then increases

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our small friendly nursery. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. The role is suitable for individuals with experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education, who are committed to creating a safe and engaging space for children to thrive.

• Plan and implement age appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
• Support children's learning through play, exploration, and structured educational activities.
• Ensure the safety and well being of all children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment for children and staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines.
• Support colleagues in managing behaviour and fostering positive relationships among children.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to child records, attendance, and activity planning.
• Contribute to the organisation of outings or trips.
• Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, management skills, and leadership within the team.

• Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
• Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare environment.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in organising activities that support child development milestones.
• Previous experience with nursery management or supervising staff is advantageous.
