Job title: Early Years and Afterschool Educator

Weekly Hours: 45.25h

Duties:

• Plan,implement and review play-based learning experiences appropriate to theage group being worked with: guided by Aistear and Síolta in the earlyyears rooms, and by the National Quality Guidelines for School AgeChildcare Services in the afterschool service.
  
• Providewarm, responsive care for assigned children, including personal care,mealtimes and rest routines in the early years rooms, and snack, homeworksupport and self-care in the afterschool service.
  
• Ensurethe safety, security and wellbeing of every child at all times,maintaining required supervision, ratios, registers and authorisedcollection procedures.
  
• Carryout school collection duties as rostered, including children collected onfoot from Kill of the Grange school and children collected by bus,maintaining accurate collection registers and headcounts throughout.
  
• Completeobservations, learning stories and developmental records for assignedearly years children and contribute to individual planning, including AIMsupport where applicable.
  
• Workin partnership with parents and guardians through daily handovers, updateson progress and attendance at parent meetings, and escalatelow the Lead Educator or Manager.
  
• Promoteinclusion, positive behaviour and emotional resilience through consistent,respectful guidance and role modelling across both age groups.
  
• Maintaina clean, safe and stimulating environment in both settings, including thesetting up, care and packing down of rooms, resources and equipment.
  
• Complywith the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016, theChild Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Registration of School AgeServices) Regulations 2018, the Children First Act 2015 and all Employerpolicies and procedures; report any child protection concern immediatelyto the Designated Liaison Person.
  
• Attend team meetings, mandatory training andcontinuous professional development, and maintain the qualifications and Gardavetting required to work in the sector.
  

Requirements

• Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care& Education (Level 6 or higher preferred)
  
• Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta, and childdevelopment best practices
  
• Previous experience in a similar role is anadvantage
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
