We are looking for a professional and experienced Security Duty Shift Manager to lead the security team and oversee the safe and efficient operation of the estate. You will manage day-to-day security operations, respond to incidents and emergencies, support your team, and ensure high standards of security, compliance and service are maintained.
This role offers a 4 on 4 off pattern, 19:00-07:00.
Key Accountabilities- Maintain a safe and secure estate by identifying risks, responding to threats and taking appropriate action to protect people, property and assets.
- Manage and respond to security incidents, emergencies, fire alarms and evacuations, following agreed procedures and escalating to emergency services or management where required.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Security Control Room, ensuring systems, communications, documentation and logs are accurate, up to date and professionally maintained.
- Monitor security, fire and CCTV systems and ensure relevant information is communicated promptly to the appropriate teams.
- Lead and support the security team during shifts, allocating duties and patrols, monitoring attendance, breaks, uniform and performance, and ensuring all posts are appropriately covered.
- Conduct regular briefings, toolbox talks, safety checks, audits and training exercises, ensuring procedures and standards are consistently followed.
- Monitor patrols, loading bay and post room operations, ensuring required checks, records and reports are completed accurately and issues are followed up.
- Conduct investigations and prepare timely, accurate reports on incidents, accidents, complaints, system issues and other security matters.
- Use MyTAG and other available systems to review, process and report information as required by Security Management and Estate Management.
- Act as a first point of support for security officers, providing guidance, resolving issues and escalating matters to the Security Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
- Promote high standards of professionalism, integrity, communication, teamwork and customer service, dealing with queries and conflicts calmly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with assignment instructions, emergency procedures, data protection, CCTV requirements, health and safety standards and all relevant site policies.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the Security Manager, Supervisor or Client to support the smooth and effective operation of the estate.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within a security environment.
- Practical experience of the application of emergency preparedness and emergency response procedures.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Familiar with Access Control & CCTV systems.
- Maintain the highest professional standards, ensuring focus on a total quality approach towards clients, customers and colleagues. Manage your time effectively, co-operate with all requests for service and carry out all reasonable management requests.
- Self-learn and maintain knowledge of current threat levels and new legislation in relation to the role.
- Act with integrity and professionalism at all times.
- Remain alert at all times whilst on duty.
- Demonstrate the ability to organise, prioritise and produce results under pressure and be able to work within the one tea
