Dual Service Operative (Security & Cleaning)

Location: Longton Exchange Shopping Centre, Stoke-on-Trent, ST3 2JA

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (07:00-19:00) - average 42 hours per week

Pay: £13.21 per hour

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Dual Service Operative (Security & Cleaning) to join the established team at Longton Exchange Shopping Centre, Stoke-on-Trent. This role combines cleaning and security responsibilities, ensuring the centre remains safe, clean and welcoming. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning tasks and maintain a visible security presence, responding to incidents and supporting overall safety.

Valid SIA Licence required. The role involves delivering high level customer service, assistance with site cleaning and security, and overall running of the centre.

Duties
  • Protect client property, people and assets by providing security services according to site instructions and procedures.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing offenders of policy.
  • Escalate incidents to Control Room/Shift Manager/Operations Manager/Emergency Services as appropriate.
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
  • Maintain organisational stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Respond to cleaning needs such as litter picking, spillages, mopping and upkeep of the centre.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Act as first line support to customers and visitors, providing a professional and friendly service.
  • Understand customer needs, respond accordingly to queries and requests and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
  • Full 5 year employment checkable history.
  • Valid frontline SIA licence DS or SG.
  • Customer service experience with confidence to handle conflict.
  • Flexible to meet job requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Smart appearance and well groomed.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • High level of enthusiasm and passion.
  • Ability to work in a fast moving environment.
