32 hours per week £27,243 per annum (£31,500 FTE)
Location: Nottingham and surrounding areas

NFP People is recruiting on behalf of a specialist organisation supporting women involved in sex work and those at risk of exploitation.

We are looking for an organised, compassionate and proactive Drop-in and Outreach Co-ordinator to lead and develop frontline services across Nottingham and surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key operational leadership role within an organisation committed to providing safe, inclusive and responsive services. You will lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, develop partnerships and help ensure services continue to meet the changing needs of the people they support.

About the role

As Drop-in and Outreach Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the operational management and continuous development of core drop-in, outreach and empowerment services.

Working closely with the CEO, you will oversee day-to-day service delivery, line manage staff, support volunteers and take a lead role in safeguarding, health and safety and organisational risk.

You will also develop strong partnerships with health, housing, welfare and community organisations to improve outcomes for people accessing services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the operational delivery and continuous improvement of drop-in, outreach and empowerment services.
  • Overseeing a safe, inclusive and welcoming drop-in environment and ensuring practical support resources are available.
  • Coordinating specialist clinics and partnership services, including health, housing, welfare and mental health provision.
  • Ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed and solution-focused support and casework.
  • Coordinating on-street and off-street outreach services, including outreach clinics.
  • Developing outreach strategies to engage underrepresented and less visible communities.
  • Leading empowerment activities and ensuring they reflect service user needs and feedback.
  • Line managing staff and overseeing the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of volunteers.
  • Supporting staff development, wellbeing and performance through regular supervision and performance reviews.
  • Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead, managing safeguarding concerns, incidents and organisational risk.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and promoting safe working practices.
  • Developing and maintaining effective partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
  • Monitoring and evaluating service performance and using data to support service improvement, quality assurance and funding requirements.
  • Contributing to organisational planning and strategic service development.

About you

We are looking for an experienced service or operational professional who can combine strong people management and partnership skills with a compassionate, person-centred approach.

You will have experience of:

  • Line managing staff through supervision, performance management and development.
  • Safeguarding, risk management and incident handling in complex settings.
  • Providing or overseeing person-centred, trauma-informed support using a solution-focused approach.
  • Overseeing drop-in or community-based services and ensuring they are safe, inclusive and welcoming.
  • Coordinating outreach services in a community setting.
  • Working in partnership with health, housing, welfare and other support services.
  • Monitoring performance information and producing reports to support service improvement and funding requirements.

Experience of working within the sex work sector or with marginalised communities would be particularly valuable, as would experience of developing specialist clinics or multi-agency services.

You will also have:

  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong partnership-building and relationship management skills.
  • The ability to plan, organise and continuously improve operational services.
  • The ability to develop outreach strategies for underrepresented and less visible communities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement in complex and sensitive situations.
  • The ability to engage service users in shaping and improving services.
  • Experience of managing competing priorities within a busy operational environment.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office and electronic case management or client database systems.

We are looking for someone who works collaboratively, takes responsibility for their work, uses initiative and demonstrates integrity, sound judgement and appropriate professional boundaries.

What's on offer

  • 25 days' annual leave plus English bank/public holidays, pro rata.
  • Employer pension contribution.
  • Flexible working where operationally appropriate.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Ongoing learning and professional development.
  • A supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • The opportunity to shape and develop frontline services and build strong community partnerships.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of women involved in sex work.
  • Travel expenses for work-related travel will be reimbursed.

You will need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel independently throughout Nottinghamshire. The role is subject to a 6-month probationary period and Enhanced DBS Disclosure - Adults Workforce.

It is an occupational requirement that applications are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
