Dream Nanny job caring for Baby and 4 year-old in rural Kirdford, West Sussex

A wonderful, welcoming family is looking for a proactive, child focused, happy and helpful Nanny three days a week, ideally on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8am to 6pm. The role involves supporting working parents with both shared and sole care of the children. The children will be 5 months old and 4 years old from September when the 4 year old will start school.

The family travels regularly (mainly Ibiza) and would love the Nanny to travel with them, though this is not a necessity.

Responsibilities

• Light housekeeping and nursery duties (cleaners also employed)
• Preparing meals for the children
• Using Ocado for shopping
• Caring for the children's laundry and sorting their clothes seasonally as the children grow
• Keeping the children's areas organised, clean and tidy
• Planning fun, age appropriate activities inside and outside, encouraging role play and lots of reading, arranging friends to play and presents for parties
• Doing the school runs to Cranleigh and any clubs (perhaps shared with Mum)
• Helping maintain a calm and happy day for the children, supporting their routine and being genuinely engaged with them and their development

Ideal Candidate

• Enthusiastic, friendly and shines as a Nanny when with children; enjoys an active family life and loves being in the countryside
• Solid childcare experience with babies, pre school and school aged children
• Organised, reliable with good initiative
• Happy to babysit occasionally as overtime

Location: Kirdford near Billingshurst, West Sussex

Minimum experience: 2 years minimum Nanny experience

Required training: Enhanced DBS and Paediatric first aid training

Required qualifications: Childcare

Hours of work: 8am to 6pm

Days required: Flexible - ideally Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Pets: Yes, 2 Australian Labradoodles who require walking, feeding and care

Driving: Driver with own car; family car may be available for use

Job start date: 1st September 2026

Pay: £20 25 p/h (gross); up to £35k for 3 days a week

Requirements

• Up to date enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
• 12 hour Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Minimum of 2 professional referees, one of which must be the current or last employer and both must be immediately contactable
• Professional insurance (nanny insurance) is recommended
