SLYT seeks a Drama Teacher/Director to lead Tuesday night drama classes for children aged 7-16 in Dulwich, South-East London, and direct annual productions staged at theatres across London. The position is ongoing, starting September 2026.
Job DescriptionI will lead two 90-minute classes back-to-back each Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, 37 weeks per year (approximately 3 hours of teaching per week). I will develop creative, energetically engaging classes that foster skill development and a passion for acting and performance.
Payment is £30 per hour (£90 per week). This role is not suitable for actors seeking their own acting work.
Job Responsibilities- Lead classes and rehearsals for up to 20 students per session.
- Deliver well-structured rehearsals during show terms and skills-based classes outside of this period.
- Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills, with proven ability to deliver well-structured, engaging drama classes to children of all ages leading to full-scale theatre productions.
- Extensive training in drama and the performing arts.
- First-aid training/certificate desirable.
- Not suitable as a role for actors pursuing their own acting work.
