Drainage Engineer Van Pack - we are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in 2 person teams, covering the whole of Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a new career with us here at Lanes Group. Location: Horsham area (training will be at our Crawley depot). Job Type: Permanent, full-time. Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week. Salary: £30,500 per annum. Our aim is to deliver high quality and compliant services for our Southern Water contract, focusing on waste-water network and drainage problem solving.
Responsibilities- Travelling to residential sites in a van you are responsible for, around the region powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
- Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
- Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
- Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
- Deliver good customer service.
- Maintain good health and safety practises while carrying out works.
- Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups) to protect employees, the public and other road users.
- Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
- Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, using correct PPE and lone worker systems where applicable.
- Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions on arrival.
- Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
- Provide support to colleagues.
- Inspect tools, equipment and plant before and after use; report any defects.
- Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
- Follow Lanes Group policies and responsibilities.
- Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with high-pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
- Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
- Commitment to safe working practices and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
